    How to Find a Number Rule

    Each puzzle shows three inputs and the outputs made by one hidden rule. Compare the pairs and select the rule that explains all three. When a choice fails, the game marks a conflicting clue and shows the number your rule would predict.

    A three-step strategy

    1. Check whether each output is larger or smaller than its input.
    2. Look for the same difference or multiplication factor.
    3. For a two-step rule, perform the operations in order and test all pairs.

    Choose math you already know

    Add & Subtract stays within those operations. Multiply & Divide uses fact-family patterns. Two Steps keeps every puzzle at that level. Mixed Challenge follows a 4/4/2 path from one-step rules to two-step rules. Modes are always available and are not locked by age.

    Find-the-rule puzzles develop pattern recognition and logical checking. The full range is roughly suited to ages 8–11 as a guide; start with Add & Subtract when multiplication facts are not yet comfortable.
